Freddie the fly waited patiently for Pamela, Karen and Margaret to arrive at Darwin airport. . The time was 12.30 a.m by the time they collected luggage after an uncomfortable flight with Jet Star. Never again with that airline they said.
At 1.30 A.M. a taxi deposited them at Luma Luma, a tall apartment building in the city. The room look inviting when booked by Margaret on the internet. What a surprise greeted us on the 6th floor. They climbed into bed. Margaret chose to sleep in the sofa bed. Fortunately she was so tired, the old springs didn't deter her sleeping. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The following night she shared the double bed with Pamela who, due to Margaret's apparent snoring, moved into the lounge room on the infamous folded sofa bed.
The Mantra across the road looked inviting for breakfast and good coffee. After Pamela's continental breakfast and Karen and Margaret's eggs benedict, the informative waitress directed them to the Red Bus for a tour of the city and nearby areas.
